Treat Yo’Self to a Super Pen
It doesn’t matter how full the pen pot is, there will always be one pen that gets more use than the others. Why? Because it’s a jolly good pen. But what makes a great pen? If ten people were to share the same pen pot it’s unlikely that everyone would favour the same one.
One person might think a pen writes like a dream, dramatically improves their handwriting and has the perfect line width. Another could use the exact same pen and be driven to distraction with a line width too thick for their tiny handwriting, have serious smudging issues with the wet ink and think the pen is too heavy.
But one thing every favourite pen has in common is that it pleases their particular owner. Once a pen finds a loyal user its job is done. It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks, it has found its forever home.
The sad thing is that there will be the odd time when your favourite pen still doesn’t meet your every need. It’s these moments when it’s necessary to dip back into the pen pot and give one of the others a chance.
Wouldn’t it be great if we could pick all of the best features from each of our pens and combine them to make one SuperPen? I can just picture it now, you call for help, SuperPen swoops in to save the day, blue cape gently flapping in the breeze as it lands on your desk, ready for anything.

Bic 4-Colour Ballpoint Pen
I could carry a red pen in my bag for a whole month and never use it. You can guarantee as soon as I take it out because it hasn’t been used, I’ll need a red pen and urgently. Why carry lots of pens around when there’s no need? My Superpen has to be able to multitask.
Parker IM Fountain Pen
I love the luxuriously smooth feeling of a fountain pen nib moving across a page. Suddenly I care so much more about my handwriting, producing inky lines of loveliness that I want to show off to the whole world. And of course if anyone want to borrow my pen I’ll be keeping the lid. Pocketing a lidless fountain pen is never a good idea.

I’m left handed so as much as I love inky lines, I’m not a fan of waiting for them to dry. My Superpen has got to have ink that dries super-fast making sure messy smudges and accidental fingerprints are a thing of the past.
