Wear Your Woolies For Christmas Jumper Day
As part of Save The Children’s #XmasJumperDay the Euroffice team is getting their sweat(er) on.
Now in its third year, Save the Children’s (STC) Christmas Jumper Day has raised more than £1.6 million to date. The idea is comfortingly simple: wear a jumper today, Friday 12 December, and then donate to STC.
Ideally it should be an Xmas-themed sweater, but the charity won’t mind if you turn up in a regular one. The important thing is that you keep warm and give generously – especially since the government will match all donations up to a total of £5 million.
(If you haven’t been able to wear a jumper today, Save the Children suggests you still ‘pop your pullovers on’ over the holiday and donate when you can. And if you can’t make it an office event, perhaps you can start a yearly family tradition, eh?)
My favourite jumper was one an aunt knitted for me in primary school. I was a big fan of Spider-Man, so she made me a fetching blue-and-red number with a big ‘pider on the front. The best bit? It had googly eyes.
Whatever jumper you’re wearing today – even if it’s not as cool as mine – share it with the world using the hashtag #xmasjumperday, post it on the campaign’s Facebook page and, of course, encourage your office to give money to Save the Children.
